Do you want to work with Bryn on your manuscript? She is currently accepting clients for her editing and manuscript evaluation service!

With three Canadian bestsellers under my belt, I know what makes a great story. I teach creative writing at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies and have five years’ experience as an editor, helping authors refine their creative work for a broader audience. I work with established and emerging authors to help them prepare their work for submission or self-publication. Below, you'll find a list of editorial services that I provide to my clients.

I work with authors across many genres including historical fiction, contemporary women’s fiction, romantic comedies, and more. If you’re not sure whether your work is a fit, just ask!

If you’re interested in working with me, consult my list of services below then send me an email. Let me know about your work, including the genre, the number of pages in question, and the sort of services you’re looking for. From there, we'll determine whether we're a good fit then get to work!

Query Evaluation

I’ll take a look at your query letter and provide meaningful feedback. This service includes up to three rounds of revisions.

Synopsis Evaluation

I’ll read through the first two single-spaced pages of your synopsis and provide meaningful feedback. This service is for two single-spaced pages of your synopsis.

First Ten Pages

I will provide an in-depth analysis of the first ten pages of your manuscript, looking for improvements that can be made on the structural, developmental and grammatical levels. This edit will include feedback on your use of dialogue, pacing, characterization and flow, and will give you concrete feedback that you can take into consideration for the rest of your manuscript.

Partial Manuscript Evaluation

I will evaluate the opening 25,000 words of your novel and offer practical advice that you can use to improve the rest of your manuscript. With special attention paid to plot, characterization, pacing, dialogue, point of view, and more, I will combine developmental and line editing to give you detailed, comprehensive feedback and editorial suggestions.

Consultation: $100/hour

Ask me anything! If you’re looking for advice on the publishing industry, how to get started as an author, where to begin when looking for a literary agent, or more insights about the writing process, this is a great place to start. Email me to start the ball rolling, and we’ll figure out which method of communication would work best for our chat (Skype, Zoom, Facebook Messenger, carrier pigeon…).
